Maungu Wildlife Conservancy has launched its Integrated Strategic Plan 2022-2031, which will serve as the blueprint to steer the organisation in the next decade.
The launch of the Strategic Plan marks a pivotal step in Maungu’s ongoing efforts to effectively manage the natural resources and raise the socio-economic standards in the area.
The Plan developed through an extensive participatory process, involving expertise across the Tsavo landscape, specifies the significance of embracing sustainability principles.
It also provides an implementation matrix to appraise performance and progress throughout the 10-year timeframe.
The implementation of the plan will ensure that the conservancy lives up to its vision: To be a lead model conservancy in the TCA for the benefit of the shareholders and community.

The plan is designed to:
(1) Aid the staff of the conservancy in undertaking their routine and operational duties
(2) Provide strategic guidance for the management
(3) Act as an appraisal instrument, gauging performance and identifying areas of improvement
(4) Act as a primary resource mobilization instrument while being a framework for resource allocation

- Wildlife conservation management
- Community, enterprise and tourism development
- Livestock production and management
- Ecological monitoring and research
